Services
Nelsons was formed in 1983 by Tim Hastings and two other solicitors in a small Nottingham office.
Since then we have grown to become one of the leading law firms in the East Midlands with offices in Derby, Leicester and Nottingham, providing support and advice to businesses, individuals and families with their legal and investment needs.
At Nelsons, we look to empower our clients, to give them a voice, fight for them, help them seek justice and steer them through the complex legal issues they face.
If you have been injured in an accident that was someone else's fault, our experienced team of personal injury solicitors can advise you on making an accident compensation claim.
Under the Limitation Act 1980, there is generally a three-year time limit to make an accident claim.
If a claim is not formally brought before the expiry of this limitation period, then it will become statute-barred, which means that you will be unable to pursue the claim any further.
For further information regarding time limits for accident claims, please watch our video below.
Whether you have been injured in a car, motorbike or on public transport, a road traffic accident is a traumatic experience.
If you have been injured in an accident which was not your fault, you may be entitled to make a road traffic accident claim.
Regardless of the reasons for the accident (poor driving, weather or the condition of the road), if you were not to blame for it then you may be able to claim for compensation for your injuries.
Road traffic accident claims can be made to compensate you for potential loss of earnings, costs you have incurred and how the injuries sustained in the accident may impact areas of your working and personal life in the future.
As one of the top rated medical negligence law firms in the UK, with a Tier One ranking in The Legal 500, you can rest assured that if you have a medical negligence claim, you're in safe hands with our team of solicitors.
At Nelsons, we understand that it can be daunting thinking about bringing a medical negligence claim.
Our experience and expertise ensures that we will give you the specialist advice and support you need through every stage of your claim.
Medical negligence claims are particularly complex due to the scientific issues involved, so it is vital to use specialist medical negligence solicitors who understand both the legal and medical issues.
Exposure to asbestos can cause a wide range of illnesses, such as asbestosis, lung cancer, mesothelioma and pleural plaques.
Since the 1970's there have been strict regulations regarding the use of asbestos and it is possible to make asbestos claims relating to exposure dating back many years.
A person who has been exposed to asbestos during their life may not discover that exposure to asbestos might have caused them harm for a very long time.
This is partly due to the latency period for asbestos related diseases which can be very long, normally between 25 and 50 years.
