Unlike many law firms, we see our clients as much more than just a number. Our personal approach means we get to know everything about you and your claim. We appreciate just how important our work is to our clients and never lose sight of the people at the heart of each case, ever conscious just how vital it is to work hard towards a positive conclusion.
It may sound like a cliche but service is everything to us and it is appreciated by our clients. Our personal approach to each case is what makes us different. The Limitation Act 1980 states that a person has three years to bring a claim for personal injury (or occupationally induced disease) from the date the cause of action accrues, i.e. the date of harm or the date of knowledge.
This is particularly complex in disease claims as given the latency period of many diseases (the length of time between the actual harm itself and the manifestation of the symptoms) the date of harm and the date of knowledge could be many years apart. If it is found that your claim is brought outside the three year period afforded to you by The Limitation Act within which to bring a claim, your claim becomes statute barred and you are prohibited from bringing a civil claim for compensation entirely.

Noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) or occupationally induced hearing loss can have a significant impact on your daily life.
Usually the first symptoms noticed by many of our clients is that they complain that people around them appear to mumble.
They increasingly have difficulty hearing, holding or following a conversation in the presence of background noise.
This could be people talking in a work situation whereby you may have difficulty understanding instructions or interacting with colleagues, or perhaps in social situations such as being in a pub or restaurant.

Upper limb disorders are a particular group of musculoskeletal ailments affecting the arm and neck.
Here is a list of these disorders.
General inflammation of the hand causing pain and swelling usually associated with manual labour involving severe or prolonged friction or pressure on the hand.
Bursitis happens when the fluid-filled sacs (bursa) that cushion your joints become inflamed.
Symptoms include a dull ache or pain, tender or warm swollen or red joints most common in the shoulders, hips, elbows or knees.

The carpal tunnel is a narrow channel in the base side of the wrist formed by the wrist bones and a ligament.
Tendons run through this channel, which move fingers and the wrist and also the median nerve which controls muscles in the thumb.
CTS arises from compression of the median nerve due to swelling around the carpal tunnel and can cause tingling, numbness and pain in your hand and fingers.
There are a number of tests that can be done to suggest the presence of CTS although none are conclusive of themselves.

Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) is the term used to describe general pain in muscles, nerves and tendons caused by repetitive movement and overuse.
It can also be known as a work related upper limb disorder or a non-specific upper limb pain and mostly affects the forearms and elbows, wrists and hands and the neck and shoulder.
The symptoms of RSI if left untreated can eventually become constant and cause longer periods of pain.
There are a number of recognised medical conditions, which can arise naturally and are constitutional in origin, perhaps caused by injury, hobby or sport and then there are those caused or exacerbated (to make a problem, bad situation or negative feeling worse) by work.
