The partnership of Stevenson and Marshall was founded in 1888 and we have been operating from our office in East Port, Dunfermline since 1931. A successful partnership of traditional values and modern attitudes, we strive to maintain high standards, to continue to move with the times and to provide the service that our clients, old and new, require.
Many of our clients and their families have been with us for many years, and we are truly family solicitors. A full-service law firm, we have a team of solicitors on hand to assist with property matters, lifetime legal, family law, business law and court work.

We are quite literally buzzing here at the Office with our very own sponsored Beehive starting to take shape.
Here's why we think it's important with a few words from Kin Apiary.
We'll be keeping you posted with Bee News regularly.
There's no sting in this tale, just a helping hand for nature.
Our bees are in decline.
Honeybees and bumblebees are our most loved bees but there are actually over 2000 different types of bees in the UK and they are all at risk.
We've lost 99% of our wildflower meadows since the end of WWII while the use of pesticides has grown and grown and we are now seeing the real impact of these changes.

You may have seen the Scottish government's advertising campaign about changes in Scotland's law regarding organ donation or perhaps you have recently received a leaflet through your door about this.
Under this new law, the presumption of consent only applies where you have not previously opted-out.
In this situation, the donation itself will not be automatic and the medical team will instead seek the guidance of your next of kin or Attorney(s) to ascertain whether you would have wanted your organs donated.

With our own office closed to the public as well as the Scottish Court Service, the Office of the Public Guardian and Registers of Scotland all effectively closed down it would be fair to assume that the lockdown period would have been a quiet time for our team.
However, that has definitely not been the case and it has been a very busy period for us over the last few months.
We thought it would be helpful to provide an update on both how we have adapted to the changes and any keys changes to Government services connected to Lifetime Legal work now that lockdown is easing.

This is the tenth annual awareness week designed to encourage more people to "pass on something wonderful" by leaving a gift to charity when making a Will.
Research shows that British people left an incredible 2.85 billion to charity via gifts in Wills in 2017.
This staggering figure is the equivalent of the money raised from 39 Red Nose Days.
Health and cancer charities were the biggest beneficiaries with Cancer Research UK, MacMillan Cancer Support and the British Heart Foundation in the top five, according to date from 260,000 Wills in 2016/17.
