Services
Richard and Patricia Martin are the partners of Andrews Martin, which was founded in Swindon in 1953, by Peter Andrews.
Richard became a partner in 1972 and Patricia joined in 1997.
Some 8 years ago the firm relocated to its present pleasant offices in a quiet part of Swindon's Old Town to focus on our specialist services of assisting the elderly and residential property conveyancing.
During this time we have established a carefully trained team of specialists who share our ethos where the client's needs are paramount and where you can easily communicate with one of our experienced specialists who knows you and understands your circumstances well.
Since 2009 we have developed this department into one of the leaders in the region.
Both Richard and Patricia are recognised experts in the field and receive referrals both from the Court of Protection and from other larger regional law firms and from Local Authorities, care providers and Mental Health Teams.
Richard is a member of the Court of Protection's panel of deputies of last resort, the highest accreditation in the field and one of only 60 members in England and Wales.
Richard is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and Patricia belongs to Action on Elder Abuse and holds the CLT Certificate with Distinction in Advising the Vulnerable Client.
Buying and selling your home is likely to be the biggest single financial transaction you ever make.
Our residential conveyancing department will handle everything with expertise and efficiency.
We can help you with a wide range of property matters, combining experience with wide local knowledge.
Our aim is to help you move with the minimum of fuss and stress.
Our Residential Conveyancing Department is staffed by Emily Goringe our Conveyancer, assisted by Laura Arnold.
We offer a free estimate service and competitive and fair charging rates.
The Lasting Power of Attorney gives one or more people, usually relatives but sometimes a professional, the ability to help you manage your financial affairs.
The Power continues even if you lose the ability to understand your finances.
As such it is of course a very powerful document.
Additionally it is now possible to make a Lasting Power of Attorney for your Care and Welfare.
You are able to appoint someone, nearly always close family members, to make decisions on your behalf in connection with your care and welfare, including where you are to live and how you are cared for should you lose the ability to make and communicate these decisions yourself.
We at Andrews Martin have close connections with the local authorities in the South of England.
Our work with the Local Authorities has covered obtaining grants of Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Conveyancing and because of our specialist expertise, with all aspects of Court of Protection work.
We work particularly closely with Appointee and Deputyship departments, assisting them with applications and advising them on the best course of action in a variety of situations and circumstances.
This has enabled us to help some of the most vulnerable members of the local communities by providing constructive advice and assistance at what is often crucial moments.
