Prior Law
We are a niche London corporate and commercial firm of solicitors advising companies, small businesses and partnerships, as well as both employers and employees. We promise to provide you with practical, partner-led advice that is always cost-effective. We specialise exclusively in company and commercial law, partnership law and employment law. Your interests are our interests.

Our aim is to ensure that we have assessed your objective from the aspects of building your business and protecting your assets, by undertaking risk analyses and consensus. We seek to reach agreements, not disputes. Our clients invariably come to us because they wish to resolve their legal issues as quickly and cost-effectively as possible, which is what we do for them.

Our principal office is in South London only four miles away from the City. We chose this location to ensure that our services are reasonably priced and that our clients are not paying for all that expensive glass and chrome. However, despite our moderate charges, Prior Law can provide all of the services and expertise you would expect of a modern City law firm.
Services
Transparency, trust and integrity are our core values.
We believe that building strong client relationships is vital to increase the value of our advice and the effectiveness of our services.
We can find the right business options much more easily for you if we get on well with you and understand you and your business.
Transparency, trust and integrity are therefore imperative if we are to achieve a rapport with you in order to gain mutually successful outcomes.
We seek a speedy resolution of challenges, allowing you to save costs, time and stress and to grow your business with the confidence of knowing you are in safe hands.
Our clients are our principal asset – we believe in people.
Our clients are very diverse and range from entrepreneurs to public companies, including private individuals and small to medium sized companies.
Many of our clients are City-based, although we do also act for clients in a wide range of sectors, including technology, oil and gas, media, publishing, professional services, fashion and retail, in both the private and public sectors.
We also act for a number of private clients in employment law matters, including company directors and celebrities who we can't name, for obvious reasons.
Nicola Prior has practised business and employment law for almost 20 years.
Her extensive experience has covered mergers and acquisitions, 'anything to do with companies or businesses' and employment law in all its forms.
Before setting up Prior Law in 2004, Nicola studied music at Oxford University and spent 10 years marketing Mr Pavarotti (and others) at Decca Records before deciding to change careers to become a solicitor, culminating in years spent in private practice in the City, including the dubious honour of selling Sooty to Thomas the Tank Engine.
When we told you about our values at Prior Law, the first of these was 'transparency', which applies equally to the way in which we charge our clients.
Nobody likes surprises when it comes to money.
Our fees are charged at either an hourly rate or at an agreed fixed price.
Occasionally we will be able to act for clients on a retainer basis, depending on the nature of the work we will be doing.
We will send you an 'engagement letter' when you instruct us to act for you, which will set out how you will be charged and the expected price range.
Nicola Prior provides a personalised, non-corporate service in all employment disputes.
She is a tough but fair negotiator and will ensure you the best possible result in your dispute without antagonising your soon to be ex-employer.
She provides all the technical legal advice as well as an unexpectedly high level of support, guidance and counselling in this difficult process.
From a personal perspective, I could not recommend Nicola highly enough.
I instructed Prior Law to act as my legal advisers when selling my motor parts and repair business earlier this year.
