Medical Negligence is where the standard of care provided to a patient by a medical professional, under the NHS or in the private sector, falls below the standard that would be considered reasonable by a responsible body of medical opinion and where the patient has sustained an injury as a result of the negligence.

What makes Moosa - Duke Solicitors different is that two of our senior specialist solicitors, Mehmooda Duke MBE* and Krishna Kotecha have previously worked for three of the leading defendant firms; Hempsons, Capsticks and Browne Jacobson. All three firms represent the defence for major NHS hospitals and medical professionals. Moosa - Duke Solicitors therefore have a unique insight into the National Health Service and how it defends claims against hospitals.

Moosa - Duke Solicitors take great pride in providing a friendly and professional service. We will advise you and help you with all matters relating to clinical / medical negligence. Whether you need help in relation to a medical negligence claim, an inquest or a complaint, and whether your enquiry is about a baby or an adult who has suffered, for example a brain injury or a delay in diagnosis of cancer, we are here to help you.

Cancer causes more than one in four of all deaths in the UK and comes in over 200 different types.
In the UK those most commonly contracted are Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Cervical cancer and Bowel Cancer.
Luckily we live in an age where early detection and prompt treatment means that a wide range of cancers can be cured and the patient go on to live a long and healthy life.
Unfortunately, all of the cancers mentioned above have been known to be missed and misdiagnosed by doctors and medical professionals both in the NHS and the private sectors.
Cauda equina syndrome (CES) is a serious neurological condition where the nerves at the very bottom of the spinal cord become compressed.
This can be because of a slipped disc in the spine.
Cauda equina syndrome requires prompt treatment to prevent permanent damage to the nerves, bladder and bowel.
If you develop these symptoms you should seek medical assistance immediately.
Your GP or the Accident and Emergency department will refer you to confirm diagnosis by MRI scan.
If the scan shows that the cause of the pressure is reversible, then it is most likely that you will be advised to proceed with a surgical decompression.
Compensation for dental negligence can be awarded were the treatment you have received was substandard, and where it has caused you an unnecessary injury.
Dental negligence claims are typically made where there was a misdiagnosis and/or a lack of treatment, or where the medical technique used was unsuitable/sub-standard.
If you or a friend or relative have suffered poor dental care, there may be the potential to bring a claim of Dental Negligence.
