As an employee or ex-employee, you may have questions regarding your employment rights and treatment at work.
Lovedays Solicitors can provide employment advice on a range of different areas.
If you are an employee and are threatened with or face dismissal, then you need to seek prompt legal help.
If you are dismissed, you have only a limited time within which to make a claim to an Employment Tribunal unless the dispute is referred to ACAS (the arbitration service).
We offer an initial employment advice appointment in a confidential appointment for a fixed fee no matter how long the appointment lasts.
If that is the case you may be able to bring a claim against your employer.
Each case will resolve on its own fact and therefore we would recommend that you contact us as soon as possible.
The government website has a very useful calculator to calculate your statutory redundancy pay.
Being made redundant is never a nice process.
It can be a stressful time as not only are you losing your job but also having to look for a new one.
We can help to ensure that your rights are protected and that you are in the best possible position moving forward.
Discrimination in the workplace means that you are treated unfairly or less favorably because of a protected characteristic.
The protected characteristics are the characteristics that are protected by the Equality act 2010.
You should not be discriminated against on the basis of one of the above characteristics.
For example, it may be that you are a woman who is being paid then a male counterpart who is doing the same work.
There are different types of discrimination such as direct discrimination.
It can be a very difficult time when you are having issues with your employment however handing in your notice may not be the best course of action.
If you do hand in your notice, then you can lose the right to bring claims that could have brought.
If you have been dismissed, you only have a short timescale to act and therefore you must seek legal advice as soon as possible.
To claim unfair dismissal, you must have been an employee, have been dismissed and also worked there for a period of at least 2 years.
