Services
Our aim is to provide quality bespoke services to clients over a range of core matters by a specialist solicitor.
We are a practice with a team of dedicated professionals committed to servicing our clients in a personal and friendly way.
We do not operate on a "conveyor belt", "one size fits all" system, as we recognise that every client is unique with individual requirements and concerns.
Our approach is to try to tailor our advice and work to the individual client and to work to our clients' timescales and not ours.

Moving house can be one of the most stressful times experienced by clients, as well as one of the most expensive.
We take the view that clients need constant access to their solicitor throughout this period, so as to remove as much of the stress from the client as possible.
The firm takes a very much "hands on" approach to the domestic conveyancing work with each stage of the process being fully explained to the client from the outset.
One of the most common complaints received by the profession is concerned with lack of communication.

Timothy Kench & Co has several business clients who periodically move premises and this involves dealing usually with business leases, as formulated under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
Since the advent of the Land Registration Act 2002, commercial leases of seven years or more now need to be registered at the Land Registry.
In addition, since the Stamp Duty Land Tax Act of 2003 there are complex calculations to be made when calculating the Stamp Duty Land Tax on commercial leases.
Frequently landlords wish to exclude the security of tenure provisions as provided for under the 1954 Act and Clients will need advising upon such terms.

The breakdown of any relationship can be traumatic and we offer a sympathetic and supportive approach with straightforward constructive legal advice at a time when you may be feeling vulnerable in an unfamiliar situation.
We take a pragmatic, balanced but firm approach to negotiations, and aim to minimise conflict and hostility in achieving a swift amicable resolution to achieve the best outcome for you.

The term Private Client is for us synonymous with family inheritance and succession planning.
This includes the drafting of wills, inheritance tax advice, Lasting Powers of Attorney (including Enduring Powers of Attorney and applications to the Public Guardianship Office for Deputyships), UK tax for international clients, the administration of estates including those with international assets and a variety of different types of trusts.
We see the importance of teamwork in delivering this service to our Clients and the need from time to time to bring together a number of specialists to assist.
