Guillaumes
Retaining traditional values whilst adopting modern technology and approaches. Guillaumes LLP is the successor following the merger between Weybridge's two most prominent and established legal practices dating back over 180 years. At Guillaumes LLP Solicitors in Weybridge, we are proud to retain our traditional values whilst bringing them into the 21st century by adopting modern technology and approaches to our cases.

Guillaumes LLP is the successor following a merger between Weybridge's two most prominent and established legal practice dating back over 180 years. Guillaume and Sons was founded in 1836, and was initially located in London and the South East, before establishing its roots in Weybridge in the 1950's. Gosling & Wilkinson was set up in Weybridge in the late 19th century, and occupied the same offices in Church Street from 1905 until 2013.

As a result of the merger, the practice has a wealth of experience, and this is reflected in our diverse private and commercial client base.

Dealing with the estate of a relative or friend who has passed away can seem like an incredibly difficult task at what is often a painful and traumatic time.
The administration of estates is perhaps the firm's signature area of expertise.
We can assist you with as little or as much of the process as you require, and in many cases we are appointed to handle the entire estate on your behalf.
We specialise in trusts and can, in particular, help parents set up a trust to make provision for any adult child with a learning difficulty or disability.
We are experts in advising clients on the preparation of a will, and the issues surrounding inheritance tax planning.
We advise all clients to prepare a will and to review it regularly to take account of any changes in personal circumstances or fiscal changes.
Family assets, often linked to business interests, require proper and close protection.
They can be used to provide security and income in retirement, eventually passing to the next generation with minimum delay and tax liability.
By making a will you can ensure that your estate passes to those who you wish to benefit, rather than the law applying your estate to a strict order of surviving relatives (known as dying intestate).
The loss of capacity to manage one's own affairs can cause problems such as being able to pay bills, access bank accounts and investments and make decisions about medical treatment or where you live.
Setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney is recommended so that you can choose who may step in to manage your affairs if you become unable to do so at some point in the future.
There are a variety of different options available and we would be happy to discuss this with you.
If someone is unable to manage their own affairs and cannot make a power of attorney because they lack the necessary capacity to do so, the only alternative is for an application to be made to the Court of Protection.
