Julia trained to be a Registered General Nurse and worked as a nurse for eight years before opting for a career change.
Julia read law at the University of Plymouth and attained a 2:1 Honours Degree in 1993.
She then completed her Diploma in Legal Practice at Nottingham Law School and undertook a two year training contract at a large legal aid practice in Devon.
Julia qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and was offered a position as a family solicitor in Devon where she remained until 1997 when she moved to Worcester to be with her new husband.
