Ruth Harbottle joined as a partner in 2002.
Ruth obtained her law degree at University of Newcastle and was a partner in the Newcastle firm of Hay and Kilner before joining Travis Marston in 1998.
Ruth is accredited by Resolution as a specialist in domestic violence and ancillary relief.
Ruth specialises in family law, conveyancing, wills and probate.
The above fees assume that it is a standard transaction and no unforeseen matters arise.
These could include for example a defect in the Legal Title, a need for an Indemnity Insurance Policy, for a Statutory Declaration or other documents ancillary to the main transaction, or the matter becoming prolonged or more complicated than originally anticipated.
If additional work should become necessary, we will discuss this with you and advise you and agree any required increase in our fees.
Land Registry Registration Fees - determined by the value of the property.
What do you do if you can't stand each other (apart from murder)?
How do you get out of this mess?
What if there's another woman/man/both?
Unfortunately relationships do not always work out.
High hopes all too frequently end up in the divorce courts these days, and you need to know where you stand.
We can advise you whether or not you have grounds for divorce or being divorced, and how to go about getting divorced.
Victim of domestic violence?
If you need urgent protection from your partner, the Court can make an injunction order to give you protection.
No one likes to think about death.
Most people do not have a will, and only make one when a loved one dies or they face a life crisis.
A lot of people assume that their loved ones will automatically inherit their money and property, without realising that other "less loved" ones may also inherit, and without being able to tailor the proposed inheritance to their loved one's needs.
Often people do not realise that if they have not married their partner, their partner will get nothing, or that step children will not benefit from their estate.
We specialise in dealing with child care cases, acting for children, parents, step parents, other relatives and carers and guardians in care proceedings brought by the Local Authority.
If a Child Protection investigation is under way, you may need representation at any Child Protection Case Conference.
Rosemary Asquith and has considerable experience of acting for parents in Care Proceedings as well as in contact and residence matters.
