Dilwyns
One of the top law firms in England and Wales, Dilwyns has for over a century been at the heart of human affairs and business in Mid Wales and the Borders. The personal touch and neighbourly concern of the small office which first established the firm still very much inspires our wide range of services today. Computer technology, specialist solicitors, law libraries and data base all bring those deep-rooted traditions to the demands of today.

All this, of course, together with an enviable grasp of exactly what is needed by individuals, businesses, farmers, landowners, company directors, people considering their wills or moving home. Individuality and personal contact have always been cornerstones of our business. Despite every modern commitment and technological support, our strength lies very much in communication with people.

A particular solicitor will deal with you continuously, but will call upon specialists within the firm when unusual problems arise or where specific expertise is needed.
Services
It is part of our business to see that people move into their new homes as quickly and as smoothly as possible to the entire satisfaction of buyers and sellers alike.
Dilwyns is well connected with all local and regional estate agents across Mid Wales and the Borders.
Local knowledge is essential when buying a new home and with it we are able to offer what we like to think is one of the best all-round residential conveyancing services in the region.
We are also members of the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) which means we are on the panel of all major lenders.
Quite apart from ensuring that your estate passes to persons whom you wish to benefit, there are a number of less obvious reasons for making a Will and we hope that reading these Notes will assist you in giving consideration to the contents of your own Will.
If you have not made a Will, there is the possible problem of the time, effect and delay that will be spent in endeavouring to ascertain whether you have made a Will and where it may have been deposited.
This will involve enquiries of solicitors and banks and, of course, a search of your home, personal papers, etc. to discover whether a Will has been made.
Dilwyns offers clients a comprehensive estate planning service - wills, probate, trusts and tax administration.
Our discerning service covers all areas from straightforward wills to more complex estates which require in-depth tax planning.
From time to time we draw upon the skills of consultant professionals - accountants, financial advisers, insurance brokers and stockbrokers - to complement our services to family money matters such as tax, pensions, life policies, setting up trusts, savings and investments.
For privately paying clients, we charge 550 plus VAT and disbursements, such as court fees, for a straightforward uncontested divorce with no ancillary issues involving children and/or finances, or other factors.
In all cases there will be a petition fee that is payable to the court (currently set at 550) unless you are in receipt of benefits or have a low income, in which case you may be able to claim fee-exemption for part or all of the court fees.
We can discuss your potential eligibility at the first meeting.
Dilwyns grew up in the farming community of rural Wales.
Ever since we were founded over 100 years ago, we have worked side by side with farmers and landowners as advisers and friends.
That, coupled with complete proficiency in modern legislation, makes us old hands at dealing with special issues - commons registration, sporting rights, succession to agricultural holdings, transfer of quotas, negotiating way leaves and devising tax and trust schemes to safeguard your farming business and to ensure its passing to the second generation.
