GPG Solicitors, formed in 2006, is an amalgamation of the criminal defence teams from Gammon Bell & Co and White & Bowker solicitors. In 2016 GPG merged with Joseph Darios Solicitors to establish stronger roots and continue to provide specialist representation. GPG are committed to the future of the legal profession and believe that a programme of continued training is an important part of their work.

GPG continue to train and develop from within the practice bringing, what GPG believe to be, a shared sense of purpose and instinctive teamwork. The firm is accredited by the SRA for Continuing Professional Development and currently has lawyers in training.

Our support staff Jane, Carol and Amelia are available during office hours and can assist with general enquiries and take messages on your behalf.
Jane, Carol and Amelia have many years' experience between them in criminal law support.
Chris worked at White & Bowker from 1988 to 2006, qualifying first as a Police Station Advisor and then a Legal Executive.
She completed her two-year training contract with Gammon Bell & Co Solicitors in Southampton.
Gaylene joined GPG at the start of 2018 having previously worked for a Portsmouth firm since 2009 covering both Portsmouth and Southampton.
If you are arrested, you are entitled to speak to the Solicitor of your choice either on the telephone or in person.
We are available day and night to give advice.
When you arrive at the Police Station, you should ask the Custody Sergeant to contact our office or our Out of Hours telephone number.
If you have arranged with the police to go to a Police Station to be interviewed, contact our office without delay to ensure our availability.

Are you financially eligible?
Please contact us to discuss this as the threshold differs depending on whether your case is before the Magistrates Court or the Crown Court.
If you are in receipt of benefits it is almost certain you will qualify for legal aid.
If you are going to be interviewed by the Police you have the right to free and independent legal advice from the Solicitor of your choice.
If you are not eligible for Legal Aid we offer competitive private rates for representation at court.
